Information About Pricing

Transparent and comprehensible pricing is of particular importance to us Prices for technical translations can be calculated per word or per line in the source language as in the target language. We recommend invoicing per word in the source language because this way the price is fixed from the outset, independent of how many words are eventually required in the target language. Invoicing in this way is also independent of layout and varying line lengths. Prices per word are nowadays the international standard, which makes better price comparability possible as well.

In addition, the price for a translation project, incl. every service associated with it, is subject to text-specific, format-specific and some other factors. Many particularly complex translation projects involving several languages are so specific that they must be planned and calculated taking all the parameters into consideration.

Factors Specific to the Text

Factors Specific to the Format

  • file formats of source and target text
  • number, complexity and formatting of graphics, tables or other formatted objects
  • quality of the formatting of the source text
  • expenses for software engineering and tests (in software localisation)
  • possible use of translation memories and terminology databases in order to increase the efficiency of technical translations

Other Factors

  • project management expenses
  • custom requirements
  • additional preparation: proofreading the source text or text compilation
  • additional post-processing: setting, layout, DTP and printing

Absent information about the parameters mentioned, exact price details unfortunately cannot be given in the preliminary stages of technical translations.
