Arabic Translation Is Not the Same Everywhere
According to the latest estimates, Arabic is spoken by 240 million people as a first language and by an additional 60 million as a second language. As a result, Arabic is the fifth largest language in the world and is considered as one of the global languages.
The modern standard and written Arabic language, the so-called High Arabic, is based on the Classical Arabic, the language of the Qur'an, and is very different from the spoken versions of Arabic. At the pan-Arabic satcasters like Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya, efforts are being made to use speech approximating High Arabic. This speech is a kind of "medial language" between High Arabic and dialect which is understood by most Arabic-speaking people - which cannot be asserted as regards the various dialects. Films that are shot in Algeria have, more often than not, High Arabic subtitles when they are shown in the Gulf region, for example.
The Arabic language encompasses a wide range of different kinds of speech. What ties all these forms of speech into one language is Islam primarily and the Qur'an especially. In the several regions there is no uniform vocabulary for many things of the modern world and no technical vocabulary for many fields of modern science either.
In order to prevent certain difficulties in comprehension, it is frequently necessary to employ a native-speaking translator from the particular target country for an accurate Arabic translation.
